Gubernational candidate Bob Beers went head to head with his opponent, Jim Gibbons on the issue of raising the states minimum wage per hour. Gibbons is for the increase of the minimum wage per hour, and Beers is against it because he says that the raising of minimum wage would reduce the number of entry level jobs for young workers. He also stated that it would raise the cost of living for everyone and would mandate future increases to the rate of inflation.

Bob Beers says he will proceed with his position to limit government spending even if the judge turns his petetion down on Monday.
Judge Bill Maddox threw out Beers two hundred explanation and he will have to resubmit another petition before he can begin collecting the 83,184 valid signatures he needs to put the matter before voters in the November collection.
Beers thinks the judge threw out his petition to delay his effort to collect the signatures before the June 20th deadline.

Bob Beers', who is running for governor, wants to debate Congressman Jim Gibbons in all seventeen Nevada counties. Beers' said he requested this three weeks ago, but Gibbons refused. Gibbons spokeman said the Congressman agreed to one debate in August and might participate in other later on. Gibbons announced his endorsement by the Nevada chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business.
